This book will give any young child a wonderfully imaginative experience, especially if read by someone with a sense of the dramatic. 'When you go into the Jungle, go carefully. It's a wild place...' - each opening gives a real sense of the mystery and fear that a walk through this wild place would be. Two children go hand-in-hand between the deep trees, surrounded by seen and half-seen creatures, 'Just sniff and listen. Feel their shadows. Squint your eyes.' The tension is splendidly built up and just as splendidly released by the last double-spread.
