A boisterous rap poem about the eponymous school child, a restless, smirking, strident, decibel-drunken reprobate who can't attend to anything unless it has rhythm and rhyme. We all know the type. Hoffman obviously tends to sympathise with this dreadful character, for whom she accordingly creates an understanding teacher and a rosy future as a highly successful noise polluter. The children I read this stuff to enjoyed it for some reason, and couldn't understand why I found it so loathsome.
