Robie may be a street kid but his newness to the life makes him far from street-wise and definitely vulnerable. He meets with very little real kindness and a deal of low-life nastiness and manipulation as he tries to make it in the city. His ultimate salvation comes from one of his victims in a mugging and that's where the story demands a sequel! Eventful and well-paced, the hopeful ending makes up for some of the all too realistically depressing incidents along the way. Bits of the story might enrage sensitive adults.
