Tumbleweed
This hilarious romp is something of a departure for Dick King-Smith featuring as it does, one Sir Tumbleweed, a most reluctant - at least in the beginning - knight from Merrie England. However, with the help of a witch, a unicorn and a lion, this engaging character undergoes a startling personality change and proves himself the equal of champion jouster, Sir Basil the Beastly, not to mention a fearsome-looking dragon, and finally comes to the rescue of a damsel in distress - this final feat providing a nice twist to the tale. Tremendous fun to read aloud as well as for individual reading. If you are looking for something different to try with a junior class, then look no further.
