Fed up with the way her family order her about, Joise decides to put her special birthday present - a witch's costume and effects - to use immediately. She sets to work on 'vanishing spells for Bossy People', but one works rather too well seemingly, and her birthday is almost spoilt. This book, like Josie, is a real charmer; highly recommended both as a story-time read aloud, and for individual readers.
