One of a new series of detailed books on health conditions, this one is a thorough explanation of the scientific causes of Down’s Syndrome, the physical characteristics, diagnosis (both before and after birth) and information about helping babies and toddlers with their physical development. There is much emphasis on the importance of proper support, both to the child and the family, and the various personal stories show us lively and interesting children and young people. The photos and diagrams are outstanding, and the production as a whole is of the highest standard. Excellent for schools, but also as information for families – adults will find it of real interest and use. The usual index. glossary, list of websites and further reading are all included.
